A day in your life as a Branch and Community Banking Planning Manager

Under the direction of the manager, this position is responsible for performing analyses and developing and implementing strategic/business plans to improve the overall effectiveness of the division.  This position assists with all branch facilities requirements and all facets of branch facilities projects, including new facilities, redesign, relocation, maintenance, repair, recovery, and closure.  In addition, this position performs analyses related to budget/forecasting as well as incentive plan administration and reporting.  Ensures business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.

 

We’ll give you these important responsibilities…

  • Recommends, develops, researches, analyzes and implements division strategies, business plans and practices, performance, customer profitability, products and pricing, target markets, organizational structure, and a multitude of other elements in collaboration with the manager.  Extracts requisite data from legacy systems, performs analyses, and produces preliminary-findings reports.  Produces PowerPoint presentations based on findings for Executive Management and other internal and external audiences.
  • Implements, manages and monitors the division’s strategic facilities plan.    Consults with senior and executive management on the division’s immediate and long-term facilities needs, then sets the overall direction and establishes the framework to fulfill those requirements.  Ensures facilities plan is fiscally responsible and maximizes shareholder value.  Ensures the brand message is communicated where appropriate.
  • Consults with management/vendors/customers on desired remodeling, construction, space, work flow, relocation, closure, and alteration.  Establishes and maintains effective vendor and business leader relationships.   Oversees the coordination of all activities related to occupancy, construction, relocation, closing, renovations, and ensures successful execution.  Develops and ensures all performance standards including but not limited to strategic, financial, operational are met while maintaining high customer service satisfaction levels.  Develops and manages the facilities and cost center forecast and budget. 
  • Conducts analysis forecasting trends and develops reports and recommendations relating to Retail Banking (i.e. branches, mobile, online, ATM, Call Center, products and services).  Provides analytical support for Branch and Community Banking strategies and initiatives to include measurement and tracking.  Coordinates collection and preparation of routine and special reports such as but not limited to customer transactions, revenue production, and return on investment analysis for projects.  Reconciles and validates data as necessary to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.  Prepares quarterly reporting and analysis.
  • Reviews and analyzes the real estate market in the pertinent geographic area to determine the most effective approach to real estate acquisition, disposition, leasing, and/or sales.  Consults with real estate professionals for additional market resources.  Consults with senior and executive management on real estate decisions.  Works with business leaders on effective placement of distribution points (ATM, branches, and internet) and leverages significant customers where appropriate. Ensures all regulatory notification requirements are met
  • Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.

Experience: 

  • Minimum 5 – 7 years of experience with responsibility for performing midlevel financial reporting and trend analysis, branch management, and/or project management or equivalent work experience. 
  • Experience implementing short and long term plans, budgeting and reconciliation, project management and knowledge of general accounting principles and practices required. 
  • Also requires knowledge of branch banking business, facilities, banking trends, etc.

Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) or similar software. 
  • Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems.

Other Job Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possesses strong analytical, organizational and project management skills. 
  • Proficient in presentation development, report generation and spreadsheet/database design and management.
  • Highly knowledgeable of general accounting principles and practices. Able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings as needed or assigned.
  • Must be able to provide own transportation and commute as required. 
  • Travels by air as required.
  • Able to lift, move, carry and transport up to 20 lbs.
