A day in your life as an Enterprise Credit Risk Officer

Under the direction of the Manager, this position is responsible for participating in and executing key strategic initiatives or projects in the Corporate Risk Group and in other businesses in the organization, in concert with Enterprise Credit Risk Management and Analytics, Enterprise Risk Management or Business Processes and Procedures or independently, that support business opportunities and directly impact the company’s optimization of customer and employee experience, as well as risk management. Ensures business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.


We’ll give you these important responsibilities…

  • Develop financial analyses to support projects in Corporate Risk or as assigned in other business units. In concert with senior management, develop an understanding of business opportunity, develop data and information to support financial analyses, and identify key risks and resource needs. Assist management where needed in implementing. Assist management in executing on opportunities in assigned roles.
  • Assist in developing and executing key enterprise risk assessment projects that support further development of the company’s enterprise risk architecture. Assist in developing appropriate management reporting to support these efforts. Conduct post implementation reviews as assigned for new products, applications, business processes, etc. As applicable, report on financial results versus plan, business process gaps or potential enhancements, and other findings to management that ensure most effective outcomes.
  • Assist in executing project plans, process mapping, key control documentation and testing as appropriate for key strategic projects or business processes. Optimize business process for customer and employee experience to create a competitive advantage. Train business staff to execute on process and control testing and documentation.
  • Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree majoring in business, finance, accounting or related area, or equivalent work experience.
  • CPA or professional risk designation a plus.



  • Minimum 5 years of increasingly responsible positions in key front line positions and risk management roles in banking.  
  • Prior process improvement/project management experience and lead/supervisory or managerial experience preferred.


Technical Skills: 

  • Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) or similar software. 
  • Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems.

  • Ability to work with all levels of management.
  • Well-organized with attention to detail. 
  • Able to take direction and work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Demonstrated written/verbal communication skills; problem solving, and analytical skills. 
  • Must have excellent project management skills, be strategic and creative, and able to drive the performance of the team. 
  • Flexible in light of changing priorities.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays, as necessary and assigned.
  • Able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings as needed or assigned. 
  • Must be able to provide own transportation or to operate a vehicle with a valid driver’s license, and able to commute and arrive at intended destination in a timely manner and/or as required.
