Seeking a Real Estate Valuator II to join our team in Hilo or Aiea, Hawaii! 

The ideal candidate will have a deep and immersive understanding of Hawaiian agriculture, real estate, markets, and commodities, a degree in ag-related fields, at least one year experience in appraisal, an understanding of real estate principles and economics, the ability to quickly master new appraisal software, and exceptional communication skills.

The Real Estate Valuator II (Valuator II) serves as a Valuation Service team member responsible for valuations of real estate properties pledged as collateral on AAC loans and loan assets by using the AgWare Maven tool or AgWare Restricted Appraisal Reports.  Reports to the Real Estate Regional Vice President through an appraisal Hub Team lead, and has responsibilities that can be regional in nature.  Collaborates with other team members, as well as other Hub Team and Retail Team members from lending, underwriting and operations to ensure high quality, timely and accurate service to customers and/or internal teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Determines the market value of assigned real estate properties using the Maven application or AgWare restricted appraisal/valuation reports on loans up to $500K.
• Independently complete Site Visits in conjunction with valuation practices.  Is able to assess whether an increase in evaluation scope is necessary. May complete and/or assist with chattel evaluations.
• Helps develop the sales database and maintain market data in assigned areas.  
• Responsible for continuous improvement identification and efforts around valuation processes and applications.  Serves as a member and collaborator on continuous improvement teams.
• Train and mentor peers. 
• Assists local lending staff with business development, customer service, and agriculture community functions.
• Perform other duties assigned.

Requirements

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent. College courses and/or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in Appraisal preferred.
• Requires knowledge of real estate principles, real estate economics, American AgCredit policies and procedures relating to real estate collateral.  
• Ability to work well with people at all levels; exercise initiative; convey ideas clearly; make sound appraisal decisions.
• Ability to communicate/coordinate effectively with all levels of management throughout the Association.  Ability to work harmoniously with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to generate highly accurate work.
• Must be proficient in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional persuasive and interpersonal skills.  
• 35% travel required.
• Other duties as assigned. 

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting. Employee will be sitting for extended periods of time and accomplishing work at a desk and work at a computer for an extended period of time. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well with a team. Ability to talk and hear, sit and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in performance of the job. Some lifting and moving of items up to 50 pounds required. In the course of conducting inspections, must have the ability to walk ½ mile, navigate steep terrain and/or construction sites and safely cross fences.   Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Other physical activities may include: Adjusting, balancing, climbing, connecting, crawling, crouching, digging, feeling, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, operating, pulling pushing reaching reading repetitive motions, standing, stooping, talking, walking, writing, measuring, physical observation, and driving.
