A day in your life as a Wholesale Sales Specialist:
Under the supervision of the Wholesale Lending Manager, responsible for servicing mortgage brokers and BOH’s sales strategy. Serves as liaison between brokers and mortgage loan processing, underwriting, and closing matters.  Serve as broker coordinator on automated and manual underwriting arrangements.  Responsible for receiving new loan applications from brokers and completing input into the origination system.  Responsible for coordinating Broker loans from start to finish. Provides administrative assistance to the Wholesale Lending Manager.  Assists in business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.  

We’ll give you these important responsibilities…
  • As directed by the manager works with brokers to input or update customer information into the loan origination system, scans and uploads documentation, and prepares loan files for submission to underwriting.  Handles other related duties upfront and throughout the processing of the loan as necessary to obtain loan decisions in a timely manner.  This includes the monitoring of a loan pipeline, communicating loan status and final approval terms or loan denials.  Coordinates with escrow, appraisers, and insurance companies for transaction information and sets up the loan signing with the broker to meet closing dates.   
  • Understands program parameters and pricing in order to provide accurate loan options to brokers.  Understands compliance regulations related to the job function and delivers adequate disclosures to the consumer as well as proper guidance on the loan fulfillment process.  Fields broker telephone calls.  Answers questions, provides status of loan requests, assists with pre-funding review exceptions, explains and answers questions regarding automated underwriting systems.  Serves as liaison between broker and mortgage loan operations personnel to facilitate the flow of broker loans from submission to recording. 
  •  As directed, assists with plans to generate new business.  Helps prepare outreach events for the broker community to establish new referral sources.  Refers clients to subject matter experts in the organization for cross sell opportunities.  Actively tracks wholesale pipeline.  Leverages support units to match the servicing needs of brokers.  
  • Provides administrative assistance to the Wholesale Manager.  Distributes memos, procedures, and other informational material.  Monitors and maintains reports on broker performance, production, and pipeline.
  • Coordinates with the broker, quality control, and loan funding to complete the pre-funding review, clear exceptions, and obtain clearance to fund and record the loan.


Qualifications

CREDIT REPORT REQUIREMENT:  A credit report mandated by the Dodd-Frank Act to ensure demonstrated financial responsibility.  The report is to be obtained and accepted no later than 30 days from employment or transfer date.  If not accepted, employment may be terminated.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT:  Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry.  If not yet registered, registration to be completed and accepted no later than 30 days from employment or transfer date.  If not registered and accepted, employment may be terminated.


Education:  
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Experience: 
  • More than 2 years of experience in mortgage lending origination or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to perform job functions under minimal supervision.

Technical Skills: 
  • Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) or similar software.  
  • Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems.

  • Excellent written and verbal skills.  
  • Ability to work effectively and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.  
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.  
  • Must be analytical, detail-oriented and organized. 
  • Always follow-up and follow through. 
  • Able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings as needed or assigned.  
  • Must be able to provide own transportation and arrive at intended destination in a timely manner and/or as required.  
  • Able to lift, carry, move and transport files of up to 30 lbs.
